Ive sailed over to Bergen on several occassions and its really nice. It is big enough to have everything you need shops, restaurants and an International airport but it is small enough to escape easily to the beautiful mountains it has as a backdrop. I really like Brygan(spelling?) - its very colourful

Sunderland isn't as bad as people think. Its got its problems, the design of the 'modern' 1950s city centre being one of them - but it also has some beautiful countryside nearby, miles of beaches and attractive districts like Ashbrooke. It also hosts an international Airshow, has an office of Nike UK and is home to the newly built 49,000 cappacity(all seated) Stadium of light. Things are looking up as Sunderland will shortly have a direct train link to London.
