The game has gone 'gold'. This means that the game is done, and is now getting the cds (DVDs now I guess) and boxes ready to be shipped to retailers. Now, will this game be good? One of the concerns about the game (and why it was delayed) was that the game still needed to fix certain problems that were prevelent in the game before the delay (choppy framerates, graphical glitches, etc.). Heck, some of the game reviewers and so forth were concerned about whether or not even with the delay, the game will be fixed. If this is the case, the game could be another disappointment. If they did fix it in the time that was given with the delay, could be a great game then.

Is anyone here still a SimCity 3000 or SimCity 3000 Unlimited fanatic?
NumberRex replied to MilleniumMan2.0's topic in SimCity 3000
I have Simcity 3000, but not Unlimited. Haven't played the game since I got Simcity 4 (actually a little before then, but Simcity 4 pretty much stopped me from going back to Simcity 3000). Other then space issues for my computer (laptop. So, can't just fill it up with anything), I found Simcity 4 to simply be a great step forward that I didn't really care to go back (Sometimes feel that Simcity 4 is what Simcity 3000 should be). If I ever feel nestalgia, I might go back to the original Simcity or Simcity 2000, but not Simcity 3000. -
Oh yeah, forgot to mention Non Sequiter. While I don't always agree with its stance on issues (it isn't a political strip per say, but it does have an occasional political themed strip), it is still, very funny and good.

My favorites...hmmmmmm. So many comics I read out there that I also like. Well, here are my top five. I'll start and say one that has already been mentioned, Foxtrot. Funny stuff. Second, I'd say Mutts. True, more cute then funny, but still, I like it. Third, Sherman's Lagoon. Hmmm. Seem to like these animal comics. Fourth, Calvin and Hobbes. Great while it lasted. And finally, Mallard Fillmore. Sure, its a political comic strip, but one I enjoy.

What was YOUR first stage 8 building?
NumberRex replied to brett_131's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
My first stage 8 was a Project Bootstrap building. I was happy, though I don't consider it that great of an achivement (after all, low wealth project building? ). Next, after a number of stage 8 ghetto buildings, in another city, it was the Ong Tower. My first stage 8 building in a successful city. I was obviously happy since, I played for so long, MANY cities later, and finally, getting an Ong Tower. -
Avenues and One Ways have On Ramps!
NumberRex replied to frazell's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
frazellthomas, Oh thats how they were able to do it. Now that makes perfect sense, and isn't really a bug then. Just feature that was made on purpose that was...until recently (well, now that its been out for a while and discovered a while ago, not so recently) overlooked. In case you are wondering, nope, still don't have Rush Hour. This is why I still didn't know how the onramp thing is done. I hope to get it within the next month or so (try Thanksgiving when I go back home from college). -
Avenues and One Ways have On Ramps!
NumberRex replied to frazell's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
The fact that ground to avenue onramps are not showing up on the icon without using tab is a bug (I think) that was overlooked by Maxis. Now, didn't stop people from finding those onramps, but, has until recently, been easily overlooked since most people don't about the tab thing. Still, hope this is fixed in a future bug. True, doesn't really effect gameplay or is overtly annoying like more serious bugs people are finding, just that, it would be nice to have everything avialble without doing some special command that we didn't have to do with the other options. -
Avenues and One Ways have On Ramps!
NumberRex replied to frazell's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
You are using the wrong onramp. That one is for regular roads. When in the onramp selection menu, click on tab a few times to cycle through the onramp selections. One should be that of the ground highway to avenue onramps. If there are any incorrections in what I have said, feel free to correct me. I still don't have Rush Hour to try it out myself. I'm just going by what I have read in other threads.
