In my opinion, size of one tile is 30 * 30 ft . Why? Because one tile in The Sims 2 is 3 ft. Road with pavement in Sims 2 neighborhood which can be converted from SimCity 4 smallest city is 10 tiles in width. One Sims 2 tile is 3 ft, so one square of SimCity style road in Sims 2 is 30 ft in leght. Same like smallest lot of neighborhood in Sims 2 is 3x1 squares, and square is 10 x 10 tiles which are 30 * 30 ft same as square road segment. After that we can calculate:
- 1 tile = 30 x 30 ft = 900 ft2 = 83,6127 m2
- Small city = 642 tiles = 900 ft2 * 642 = 3686400 ft2 = 0,34247776666 km2
- Medium city = 1282 tiles = 900 ft2 * 1282 = 14745600 ft2 = 1,3699110666 km2
- Large city = 2562 tiles = 900 ft2 * 2562 = 58982400 ft2 = 5,4796442665 km2
And, In other words:
- 1 tile is square with side 30 feet which is 9,144 m.
- Small City is square with side 1920 feet which is 585,216 m.
- Medium city is square with side 3840 feet which is 1170,432 m
- Large City is square with side 7680 feet which is 2340,864 m
I hope it was interesting for someone and 15 mins for writing this post wasn't wasted time.
Inspired by elfrjz's article, with same idea, but wrong calculations.
