The transit improvements in Shozhod brought other changers. Where most of 65,000 fans would once drive, the Sports complex was now served by 5 Metro lines and numerous bus connections. The need for expansive surface parking was minimized.

The new mass-transit based neighborhood, combined with the near-by university, was a major boon to the neighborhood. With sporting events taking place 160 days of the year, new businesses flourished here.
To the east of the complex, an new multi-story parking lot was built to accommodated those who instead on driving.

Not every improvement was done on the public sector's dime.
The excess land was sold to a private entertainment developer for a new fairground. Not only did this bring needed revenue to the city and provide new entertainment opportunities, it also leveraged the heavy investment in pubic transit made in the area.

Until next time!
