Southarm Reclamation

Komurat is tiny. The city was starting to build up & the island holds over 7,000 sims. People were starting to feel cramped in. They needed more space.

This is present -day Komurat. The eastern area was being zoned for higher density, but the western area (the rich area) stayed low density. There was a demand for more land, so the government desegnated an area to the south of the city.

The land was raised. The new land will form a sheltered area which can be developed into a port.

The rim of the area was built up. Trucks come in all day to Komurat with earth to form the new land. The construction site is fenced off & is an authorised personnel zone.

Over time, a ring has been raised. There is still a lot to do.

The water has been drained. It is now ready to be terraformed.

Part of the Southarm Reclamation is to build a freeway tunnel to the mainland. This will connect with the M20 in Springwood. The main purpose is to relieve the congestion on the Komurat Causeway. The route of the freeway is being raised. Note the seawall has been built.

Trackmarks over Southarm. It is now ready to bear infrastructure; the roads & houses will appear soon.

The Southarm Fwy (M20) is coming along...

The tracks are cleared & new ones put in, these for permanent streets.

Southarm Blvd has been put in. The entrance to the M20 tunnel is there, but it is closed (the tunnel hasn't been built) so all traffic is directed onto Southarm Blvd.

The streets are paved.

And voila! Trees were planted along the M20, people moved in & the Southarm Column was erected to tell the story of Komurat & the construction of Southarm.

The suburb of Southarm no w houses an additional 1,000 people. A future transit link to Komurat Main Station (tram or subway) may be in future planning.

Nice update and good idea. How about creating a plaza or park around the column though? It seems (to me) a bit out of place in the middle of the residential buildings. But I'm gonna follow this CJ. Keep the good work up.

I like how you show the progression of developing areas, and good use of the rural highway. I agree with iGod about the column, but otherwise good work, keep it up!

I might actually put this into consideration, now that more than 1 person has commented on it.
