Ln X - Thanks so much ! Can you please suggest one terrain mode for my kind of city style? I don't seem to decide on one that suits me. I am afraid I can't use Tree mod as it may cause CTD on existing cities. I keep going back to old cities to do progress and updates. Any solution?

Here's Deoghar after few more years.... Its quite interesting how art and entertainment are moving in city ! The little village is a city now and people are amused.

A good terrain mod to use is the Lowkee Appalachian terrain mod. Very vibrant textures and very forgiving to for rock MMPs, many hard-core players use it- including the great and almighty paeng. But with some of the textures it does make some plant MMPs stick out in a somewhat bad way.

My personal favourite though is the Berner Oberland terrain mod. It's basically Swiss-styled landscape textures and it brings mountains to life. But it is a far more subtle landscape so it's less forgiving for use of rock MMPs, but it works wonders for non-tropical trees, flowers and grasses.

As for tree controllers. Well I think you are having lots of CTDs because you are loading up cities which contain either Maxis trees or trees from an old tree controller. To safely load up these cities you need the correct tree controller and then you need to delete every single tree. Use the cheat 'flora' combined with Buggi's extra cheat plugins to the job for you.

Once all trees are cleared, then remove every tree controller except for the one you need. Or if you're looking for something else, delete them all from your plugins.

The Cascadia tree controller seems to be a good match with Lowkee's Appalachian terrain mod, but I don't know that for certain because I have never used those two items.

If you are going to use the ARDEN tree controllers, the inland version works perfectly with the Berner Oberland terrain mod.

I hope this gives a good guide to HD tree controllers and HD terrain mods.

Thanks a lot Ln X !

I will check with the terrain mods.

I am not facing any CTDs at present. What I meant was that if I don't remove trees from my existing cities, which I keep visiting, any new Tree controller will cause CTD. Same as you said. I would need little more help with the Cleaning up existing trees with the "cheat 'flora' combined with Buggi's extra cheat plugins".
