Greenwich Republic Elections
Greenwich TimesGreenwich City, Greenwich, July 7, 2009
AP-In less than 5 weeks, the citizens of the Republic will hit the polling stations to elect a Prime Minister of Greenwich. It is expected that over 85% of the national population will turn out to vote. Polling stations will be inside schools, libraries, city halls, and some post offices.
The current Prime Minister, Adam Brown, is a member of the Liberal Party of Greenwich. The opposition is George Wellingsford of the Conservative Party, and Peter Knox of the Independent Party. The two frontrunners in the election are expected to be Prime Minister Brown and George Wellingsford.
This election could change Greenwich's stance on political issues. Right now, there are 47 Liberals and 43 Conservatives in Parlaiment, leaving room for 10 Independents. This election is expected to be very close, so close that in some "Battleground" Provinces, like the North Delta and Greenwich Highlands, every vote counts.
So now its up to you! Who do you want to represent the people of Greenwich? Prime Minister Brown, Governor Wellington of Oxfordshire, or Mayor Knox of Delta? Discuss this by posting comments.
