Southern Cities: Teaser: Aiken!
Good Evening Everyone!
After a long hiatus from updating my City Journal I want to introduce you to my re-creation of Aiken, SC; the county seat and largest city in Aiken County, SC. Most of my cities are of my own imagination and are loosely based off of real cities. In this case, I attempted to re-create Aiken to the best of my ability with the resources available thanks to the many SC4 developers, without your hard work this would not be possible.
This is only a teaser and will provide a more detailed view of Aiken by the end of this week or early next week. Enjoy!!
This teaser view shows most of the historic center of Aiken, with the county court house, chamber of commerce, city hall, as well as numerous shops, offices, restaurants, and homes. There are also several historic churches in this part of town. The large forest to the right is my re-creation of the Hitchcock Woods (1/2 completed), which is one of the largest urban forests in the US and preserves the long-leaf pine/wiregrass ecosystem which was wide-spread through the Sandhills/Piedmont of SC and GA. The roads to the bottom head toward North Augusta, SC and Augusta GA; while the roads to the top head to Columbia, SC (will add this to my CJ in the near future).
