Kirminsk is a place of little hope and fewer prospects, the populace trapped and unable to escape to the brighter jewels that their labour has produced. A maze of prefabricated high rises and industrial complexes, Kirminsk is the manufacturing hub of the region, producing everything from engines to kitchen sinks, usually for transport to other cities. This does not, of course, mean that everything in the region is produced here- with little investment in education, high tech production, such as computers, takes place in other cities, mainly Vostrevosk and Antresk.
Not all of the population belive that they should bear the brunt of the burden of production, and protests, often escalating to riots, are common. These are not tolerated, and Kirminsk police are often seen sporting riot gear and rifles loaded with rubber bullets. This is sometimes not enough, so the city has a strong military presence.
