Imperium Deorum International Airport - Vidyian City

Welcome back! As a supplement to my recent post of the interior hub, Vidyian City, this is the main airport that serves the city, just to the North. In my previous journal, you may have noticed there was an airport inside the city. That airport is a government owned security airport, used for flying in high value shipments directly to the South Industrial Zone, for military emergencies, the travel of political figures, and of course evacuations if needed. The airport featured here, to our knowledge, is purely civilian (although its name suggests otherwise). Once again, we thank the Vidyian Metropolitan Transit Authority for providing the aerial shots and maps.
To begin today's journal, here is the map of the location of the airport, about 20 miles due north of the metro area of Vidyian. It is located on the edge of the Du'at River, is border to its south by farmlands that supply the interior province, and is bordered to its north, east, and west by the Moorwhich National Forest.

Here is a more detailed image of the airport itself.

Here is the aerial view of the airport:

West Concourse/Terminal Gates

Both Runways were built on low rise cliffs. This would not be an unusual landing design when compared to other airports in the world if it were not for the high wind gusts that come out of the west. These winds have caused a 2 planes so far(especially those with winglets) to veer off the runway before touchdown and land in the river. Luckily, no deaths have occurred.

Here is a look at the airport road cutting through the farmlands, connecting the airport to the major highway I-45, which flows through Vidyian to the South (seen in previous entry) and Moorwhich to the North.

Here are some photos:

As always, thank you again for viewing. Please rate and comment, and always feel free to share ideas and improvements. May everyone viewing this have safe travels this holiday season, and of course, Merry Christmas!
