Hey everyone! As some of you might already know, I have started an ambitious project called The Dunya Project. If you are familiar with "The Towne", then you will get the general idea behind it. Basically, what happens is that each player that joins controls a character, making desicions each turn such as buying land, buying goods, opening companies, etc. It is a detailed and slightly complex game with lots of pictures and numbers! The game is forever evolving, and the country of Dunya is being shaped by the collaboration of you, the characters! I am hosting the project over at SC4D, but will post the updates here as well. Please head over to The Dunya Project forums, and join up as we are looking for more participants!

Turn Eighteen

Population: 5870

GDP: $29,878,300 ($5,090 per person annually)

Labor Force: 2642

Education Level: 0.09 out of 4

The Grover land has been bought out by the Baker family – most of it, at least. The government took back the eastern edge of the land and has extended Hansford Street all the way to Kearson Drive. It has also constructed affordable, high density housing as it looks to battle the growing problem that is Desert Town. Reasonable success has been achieved, but a lot more housing will have to be constructed in order to get rid of the shanty town developing on the northern edge of Rawa’a.

Rawa’a’s population has skyrocketed to 5,870 residents the past few months, and that has taken its toll on the general infrastructure of the town. The King, however, has announced plans to rapidly expand the transportation network, and there has been talk about initiating a public transportation scheme.

I love this update: population 'skyrocketing' to 5k made me smile. That also made me appreciate the nice, slow growth of the town... it all looks great, nice and green where developed. And that shantytown pushes farther to the outskirts... is that getting bigger as the town grows?

Well, the government is making it a point to make sure people dont have to live in these shacks any longer. If you notice, there has been alot more higher density (but perhaps not as pretty) housing popping up in the northern part of the town. Hopefully, as the government puts up more of those, the slum known as Desert Town will slowly disappear!
