Houston

I have no idea if it is actually like Houston (I've only been to Houston once, for three days), but it looks very much like a major city in real life. This is great. Good job...

I have no clue if its enough like the real Houston as I have never visited either and do not plan to. I just went by bing and google maps. The first beltway looks like it should actually be further out but that just seemed too far. Also I have no clue how to have a major airport function to serve the region when its in another city so I had to build it in downtown which is not real. I dont have a whole lot of plugin buildings but I have the only ones that are from Houston available here.

That does look a lot like Houston and I should know because that's just outside where I live . It looks accurate from aerial but the rivers aren't that big. Their more like little creeks or canals except for the ship canal that leads into the gulf. Also most highways such as the Sam houston tollway , beltway 8 and 59 north/south could be easily replicated by the RHW mod. Also the downtown about the downtown buildings, they aren't that many buildings and their not tall. But this is amazing for someone who has never even been there! I want to see more

agreed!! im from north houston... it should be interesting to see you do a replica creation of the suburbs north of beltway 8

Yea I know. Wish the map had a bit more accurate canals/rivers. I've kinda had to mix some free form city building. I'll do my best with it.

I noticed the difference in downtowns and originally planned it to be more accurate but had issues. Thats the difficult battle with sc4. To make a urban CBD for a large region you have to have more highrises than a realistic city would have. Also I know that there are not as many mid to high density residential as this but that's the only way to get the population more like the real city.

I do have the RHW but was lost in how to use it. So many pieces. Sorry a bit of a novice with the plugins.

Anyway I'm having fun with it.

Very nice city! I agree with the thing about the canals, and also maybe try a custom terrain/water modd- it could look very nice.

btw- I read about the airport issue. and well, I have a solution: You can build a custom airport where the real one is using the RMIP, etc. -it would be mainly for looks and for the sake of re- creation. And then whenever you have a city that needs more demand, etc from an airport, try this lot that I am linking. It is just a small plaza, but is like a maxis airport.

I live in downtown Houston. Use the canal set for the bayous. Downtown is about 6 miles north of Reliant. I am very interested to see how it turns out.
