Airport Renovations: The New Get-Go

To start with, the Maxis airports are Epic Fail. Adding to that is that sims don't use mass transit to get to them. Very unrealistic.
So I found out the Radical Ordinance V2 (available here on ST) allows you to force sims to use mass transit. My airport in Curved
had problems already, so it was time for an overhaul.
The airport before:

Many issues with current configuration:
Only access is via 2 lane road
No parking available except for Park and Ride station
Private Helipads not being used, taking up parking space
Solar collectors create a glare hazard when landing.

Curved officials decided to buldoze the helipads and Park and Ride, relocate the solar collectors, widen the access road, create parking
facilities and lots, and to add GLR-C access.

The Underground GLR-C now pops up right by the west parking facilites, and continues to the east (the image is oriented south to north)  The access road was upgraded to dual one-way roads, and parking lots were added in the place of the park and ride. Now, Sims can either take their car or the GLR-C from anywhere in the city to get to the airport.

More updates later, and as always, I love your comments and feedback.
Best,
Alex

I have a region combining all of my megalopolis cities built purely for population, and it only amounted to 2.6 mil sims. Some of those buildings I've never seen before! Are they from the STEX?

CAn I recommend chucking a few trees into the green spaces? A little flora goes a long way to improving the aesthetic qualities of a city!

Agreed above, maybe you could download one of those beautiful tree packs. Set your favorite as the God Mode tree tool, and then hold down Alt+Ctrl+Shift and click on the sims button to open back up God Mode and place down vast expanses of pollution destroying trees. Also, if your roads are covered in yellow when you view your air pollution, trees can take that pollution away, but also enacting the Automoblie Emission Reduction Act ( something like that ) ordinance can help get rid of it.

~Sorry if you already knew this stuff~

Uhmmm...  If you said that Maxis Airports are epic fails, then why have them in the middle of the city?  Especially, why build it when you can have custom airports for exterme realisim.  Considering that you've added other aminties to the airport, I say that's better than what I can do.
