SimCity 4 scenes are based on the Great Wall of China, the world's longest wall and largest ancient architectural artifact, built over 17 centuries of transition from nomadic to agricultural society and civil structure. The wall represents much of East Asia's ancient history from about 500 B.C. to the modern world.  The Great Wall is approximately 21,196 kilometers long and is a UNESCO world heritage site.

Most of the scenery was composed using the following mods:

•Maxis castle set
•jijdlswns Korean traditional buildings
•Girafe's various flora models

Maxis Castle Sets seems to be somehow weird with its orthogonal shapes and they are a bit too tiny.. But the scenario is really amazing.. It reminds of some old games like Age of Empire ..

The Castle set pieces look even more tiny against the scale of the other buildings.  When I studied the actual wall in China and reading about it I found it interesting that the Great Wall is considered a primarily medieval construction, yet its very beginning goes back to the ancient world.    The span of time is like no other world heritage artifact I know of, so I was focused on expressing especially the vast length of the construct rather than its vertical stature or width.
