Sim city macros?

Hey, I'm new to Simcity and addicted to it big time. In playing around I found that a good deal of time is used in repeating building tasks. It would be great if there was a mod or method to make a macro of sorts, that would plop down a certain type of city block with a single click. For example here is one of the blocks I use most for mid or high-density development:

. are roads, B is bus, S is sub, z is commercial/residential zoning, and R is small plaza/small park.

If I could plop the whole thing in a single click I could spend less time on zone contruction and more on management and problem solving. If one had macros of various types one could easily build a city with variation.

it is not an editor, so you don't have editor capabilities.  Scripting cannot be done either.  In both cases you would need something like copy/paste to do the replication.

enjoy the game, anyway.  Just remember to go good and slow and enjoy the animation.  The goal is self-set.  I try to keep in the black and grow forever.

that would be lovely to have such an editor. but i want to play simcity, not play autocad, which is what it would be like after a while

with such a editor my cities would be one big ugly grid. I like to build it more freestyle then it will look much nicer.

I agree with tag_one, such a macro grid placer would kinda ruin the feeling of simcity. Cities would look more like human farms than like cities.

Maybe its better if you try to be more creative

Drag some roads at random places, connect them, add more stuff at random places... simply be more freestyle! That way you would enjoy the game even more!

Erm ... we do have a grid placer, it's called the Lot Editor. After all, you can pre-build complete sections of the map with that, but it'll never grow, and you'll need to transit enable al the elements ... much more fun to just let your city grow naturally, and if it's not a perfect grid it don't really matter, after all, most cities didn't grow in grids, they grew in a random fashion.
