Mass Transit Problems after installing NAM

I searched for a topic like this but was unable to find anything that answered my question. I recently installed NAM and started a new city and slowly grew the population up to ~3,000 sims. I then started constructing some Mass Transit (i.e Buses) iat the choke points of my residential and industrial centers. I didnt' give them much thought for the next couple years of game time but I then realized that nobody was using ANY of my mass transit stations. Is there something I messed up or forgot to download??? (I did update to the new patch for SC4eluxe after installing NAM). Any help would be greatly appreciated and if there already is a topic on this that I overlooked I apologize and just point me in the right direction.

my game was all updated before i installed the NAM, but i used the SUB/BUS stop - and the population of the city being 600,000 people - the bus system was used - but the subway wasn't - even with connections - so i'm not sure what the problem was .....

also - being a fast computer, it slowed down a lot with the turning lane addition i think -

please note, i had the NAM installed before my computer was formatted - but without all the extra options installed - if that makes any diff.
