I think i have done this once before some long time ago, but can't remember how i got myself out of this.

I had a couple of cities i wanted obliberated and optimistic as i was i thought i could do this faster my only clicking the city from the regional map and clicking delete and i then would get the opportunity to obliberate the city. I found out this wasn't the way it is done and now i have a plain map that doesn't fit into the regional map. I know i can reconsile the map, but then i won't get the original map.

What can i do to get the original map back?

    Thx a lot in advance...

unless you have a back-up some where you can import to the region....you sort out of luck...once you hit the delete button...the city is gone forever

if it's one of the original maps from the game you can find the region  on the CD or in the programs folders

if it's a STEX map...you could rerender the map and import the city back to the original region

to Obliterate cities...you need to use the in game comand...looks like a trigger for dynamite...this command will wipe the cty clean but leave the terrian behind

That i found out. Will remember to use that one from now on only.

By original i mean the original that came with the game. I am playing the London region with all the original London maps. I need the two maps with the river to the right of the region amoung a couple of others (accidentially switched between the maps). How do i know which i must copy from the CD to the folder on the computer? I don't want to remove the running cities i currently have.

find the region on the cd or in the programs/maxis/simcity4/regions folder

make a copy of the region to your my documents/simcity4/regions
this will create two London regions in your game

restart the game and open the new one...find the city(s) you accidently deleted...open them and name them something you will rember...then go to your old map and import the city(s) individually to the old london region

after that the second london map can be delted from the game...it is no longer useful

ps...delete the right one...2.gif and make regular backups of your favorite region...4.gif

It worked. Great. It worked, not harm done afterall. It didn't do it exactly as you told it, but something along those lines (just moved my running maps to the new folder).

Well, thx a lot for your help. And unless this forum is updated once again i don't think it will give me any problems again. As the title of this thread says, this is not the first time - but the thread where this was explained isn't here anylonger as the forum was updated some time ago. But again, thx..
