Stages are basically height levels with the buildings. Stage 8 is the tallest, such as Hurt Enterprises from the Euro tileset. Stage 8 is the only one that I really know anything about at all.

You need a population of 1000 to get medium density, and a population of 26,000 to get high density.

Really that's all I know, cuz I've never had any stage 8 buildings. Hope that helped you! 1.gif

Stages are basically the size of the building that grows and the amount of jobs it has.

Bigger cities = Taller Buildings.

The size of a building is classed in stages, ranging from 1 to 8.

Basically:

1 = tiny

8 = huge Skyscraper

2-7 = increasing height and size in between

Here's an even more stupid question with regard to stages:

How do you know what stage your city is in. I don't suppose there is any indicator hiding somewhere that says this city is at stage 5 or that city is at stage 3? If I go by building height alone, my cities are not producing buildings which claim to be stage 6 or 7 or 8. Yet, I can easily produce a population of 300,000 sims in each city. The R,CS,CO and I levels are all above the stage 8 limits I've seen posted here... So why don't a have massive skyscrapers

I'm guessing that my dilemma is related to caps for wealth level and density? Unfortunately, I have a hard time interpretting the meaning of the cap levels given by the game. Anyone care to explain the percentages and the demand cap numbers for different wealths and densities?

I think stages are muduling you. They are just a more complex way of saying the Sim City 4 building height system which works basicley like this:

Low Density- 1-2 story buildings.

Mediam Density- 3-5 story buildings

High density- 8+

The density of the buildings is chosen when you zone. You need good demand for the higher densitys.
