University not appearing

Hi,

 

In one of my cities the university is not appearing.

 

the criteria mentioned in game are 15k pop, 42 rating and 95 edu level.

all of which I have passed by some margin

 

are there any more critera or is this a bug??

Forget the game University.If I remember SWI did a much nicer University.

Its not a bug that I know of. You may just have to wait a bit longer before you will be able to plop it in.

This happened to me too

 

I decided not to build it at the time the pop up came and when I decided to make one the university was grayed out

This happens many times!! It's not a bug at all. Patience is the key here!!

@ Zorbane: Hey there! Your problem could be that your city no longer can satisfy the requirements of the University. This happens in case you happen to save and exit the city and then replay the city at a later time. The same is the case for all rewards.

Hey I figured it out and yes it has somethign to do with not meeting the requirements anymore!

 

Seems like it takes the private school education into account, and my private schools are all swamped with bratty kids bringing it down to 2 apples or so

 

I'm guesing this would lower the City Grade below 95%?

Does anyone else have this problem still? I tried to delete the private schools and create one where it wouldn't be overloaded, but that doesn't seem to be working.

You don't have an Opera House, do you? If so, you may be a victim of the infamous Opera House Bug which is bringing the EQ down far enough that you can't satisfy your requirements. There is a fix for this. Go to the Modds section and get the Opera House Fix. Or, if you don't want to use a mod, just remove the opera house and see if the EQ goes up. (Do a search and you'll find in depth details of what happens to the city-wide EQ because of the bug)

I never built an Opera House, but maybe if I do it will trigger it. As far as I can tell, my EQ is more than enough.

Your best bet to make the University come is the following. Have at least 15000 people, a 42 mayor rating and 95 education level. Others would be make sure education is well funded and of course provide muesums, libraries to keep Sims Smart. If you can do this you should have no problem whatsoever.

Sorry to revive this old thread, but I have a similar query.

I had my university but I had to demolish it to fit in a highway. I was hoping I could just choose it again and place it somewhere else, but it is now permanently greyed out. I think I'm still in a good enough position to have one (does School Grade 95 refer to the education graph?). Do I have to hang on and hope to be lucky and get it offered to me again, or can I revive it in any way?

Did you try your educaton menu as well as the rewards menu?  If you really want it, the "cheat" you dont deserve it is a toggle.  Turn it on, get it, then turn it off.

Thanks N-O-BODY,  I have used the cheat to get my university but can't toggle off again.I'm sorry to follow up my debut post with another obvious question but I'm a bit stumped.  Do I just repeat the process? If so, that doesn't appear to be working for me.

ok i'm having this problem now too. i haven't played in about er well over a year. but i went back and started to play with my large region. the city i want to build the university in has edu 180+ =300000 pop and like 80% mayor rating. but the uni is not available. any ideas? i also thought perhaps it's a one per region item but the region has no uni as far as i could see.
