Having a problem running the program sc4pac

Hey everyone! I am trying to install the necessary plugins and mods for SimCity 4 Deluxe with the program sc4pac, but when I run it from my desktop, I get a message saying the "local server failed". Along with this message is a code: 1073740791 - not sure if that helps at all, but can someone please help me get this up and running?? Any and all help is appreciated!! Thanks in advance!!

Ensure you have the latest version of Java available. (The current version is 25.) 

If you do not have the latest version of Java, you must uninstall Java, restart your computer, and install the latest version of Java from here.

To explain a bit more: The error code is not known to sc4pac, but it comes from your operating system instead. This means it's probably either a bug in the Java version installed on your system, or it's an issue with your operating system. Make sure your Windows 11 is up-to-date. And, as @Ulisse Wolf explained, that you have the latest Java.

Hi, I recently encountered this issue as well. As Ulisse and Memo mentioned, it stems from a problem with your Java installation. Here’s what helped resolve it for me:

• Download and install Eclipse Temurin JDK (Windows x64), Java 17 or newer.

• In the installer, enable “Modify PATH variable” and “Set or override JAVA_HOME”, then finish installation.

• Open a new Command Prompt window.

• Run where java and confirm the first result points to C:\Program Files\Eclipse Adoptium\...\bin\java.exe.

• Run java -version and confirm it prints a Java version 17 or higher.

• Launch sc4pac-gui again (double-click), or from CMD: cd "C:\Users\user\Documents\sc4pac-gui-windows-x64" then sc4pac-gui.exe.

Awesome!! Thanks so much for your post!! I am currently waiting to hear back from someone about my current Java installation and how updating to the newest version will impact my DosBox Game Launcher download. I really do thank you guys for your help, much appreciated!! As soon as I know about DBGL, I will certainly dive into SimCity 4 Deluxe ASAP!!! It looks amazing, and I can't even imagine how it compares to the original SimCity, which was the only one I have played so far. So excited!!
