Overfunding airports don't increase actual capacity

I read in the Prima guide that if we increase the budget of the airports, the maximum capacity should increase.

Here's an exemple from one of my city:
I have 1 vanilla small airport with no upgrade with the capacity maxed out of 10000.
I turned the budget to 120% in the budget panel.
I can see the maximum capacity on my airport did increase to 12000, but the capacity used never go higher than the 100% initial capacity.

Underfunding works as intended but not overfunding.
I play on Deluxe edition on Steam.
I've tried disabling all plugins but same behavior.

Is this a known issue?

PS:
Hello, I'm a long time lurker but this is actually my first post.
So I've been trying to find this information anywhere but I didn't found anything.
It's nothing game breaking, but it slightly annoys me :)

I'm completely confuzzled. *

The Small Landing Strip has a throughput of 10,000 at 100% funding. Now with it over-funded to 120% is shows 12,000.

So, I'm failing to see any bug. *:P

(Do note the efficiency starts declining around 75% (or so) of the funded capacity so that would explain why the airplanes are not fully shaded.)

The problem here is not the 12000 "Max. capacity". It is filled correctly.
It's the "Capacity Used" just below "Max. capacity" that never goes beyond 10000.

My city should have more than enough Co§§/Co§§§ to go to 12000 (and beyond), but it's stuck to 10000.

Ah, yes. I prolly didn't say my last part very well. :uhm:

Airports and Seaports have a built-in maximum efficiency iirc. Would you mind to run a simple test for me? (I don't have the game atm.) Set the funding to 100% so the Max goes back down to 10k, run time, and then see if the amount used drops to about 8,300 or so.

Ok I've ran the test you asked. Put budget back at 100% and ran the simulation for about 1.5 year on fast-forward and it stays at 10000 the whole time.

Feels like the game has the overfunding feature not 100% working as expected.
Like it's either just a UI error and the value are 12000 behind the scene, or it's actually stuck and don't work even if the max. capacity does show it was increased.

I also did upgrade my airport just to see the actual current value of my city.

As you can see, if 120% overfund of airport did work correctly, it would have went to 12000 on the small landing strip.

I don't have big enough cities yet to test if it happens on larger airports too... *:P

    I concur. Good sleuthing!

(I don't recall it ever coming up for me since nearly all my city tiles are rural and then the few with a big city and airport I'd've just upgraded as they lost efficiency.)

Last update for the night: I tried to find the data related to budget and airports in iLives Reader.
Didn't find anything related to the budget of airport.
Seems if we want to fix this, it's probably deeper and out of reach to my current knowledge.
So for now: It's a bug and I'll live with it haha.

I tried to find the data related to budget and airports

It'll be in the Port Developer Exemplar and then there will be entries with several repetitions of data which correspond to each airport in succession as follows:

0xca271783 : Budget Requirements List      : List of budget requirements for each growth stage - in Simoleans™
0xca271784 : Trip Capacity List            : List of trip capacities for each growth stage for airport or seaport
0xca271785 : Efficiency Distress Threshold : Efficiency percentage under which the port lot distresses

And it's that last one which caused me to believe yours was acting exactly like it should. It's cool how you've found that's not the case. Or, is it possible, that at 120% it kicks in with a vengeance?

And (in case you are wondering) no I don't know the exact details of the items listed above from memory. (I do often remember what exists tho.) And then I go to the Exemplar Properties Page on the SC4D Wiki.

Do be extra careful if tinkering around with any adjustable budget item because of the ability to cause a Phantom Slider. If you do experiment, be sure to have a backup of the city tile, bulldoze any existing airports with the original exemplar in effect, create your override, load the game, build a new airport, and see how it goes. If you plan to revert to the original data, bulldoze the new airport while your override is in plugins before you remove the .dat you created.
