How do I change the resolution to my SC4 game?

I would like to change the resolution in my simcity4 game. I downloaded it from Gog galaxy.

I followed the directions in the following video:

 

I added the following words (like the above video said): -CustomResolution:enabled -r1680x1050x32

I clicked “apply” and an access denied message appeared. The message read: “Access denied: you will need to provide administrator permission to change these settings. Click continue to complete this operation”

I click “continue”. Nothing happens to the game. What can I do?

Personally I prefer to use this launcher

Also I recommend you to use a wrapper

Remember that SimCity4.exe and dgVoodooCpl.exe (In case you have installed the wrapper) must be forced to use the Dedicated GPU

I downloaded SC4 launcher. I clicked launch. An error message popped up. one thing I noticed while adjusting resolution was that it only had three options: -directx, -software, -openGL. I have my sc4 on hardware. Is that screwing everything up?

Most likely it's a GPU Setting problem. Always remember to run SC4 in Hardware mode (DirectX)
