Placement arrows missing

Game was working OK yesterday, but when I try to place any of the RCI lots the original tile with the direction arrow is blank. Can any one help? I am trying to place a commercial zone piece in the game it is just blank no blue color or arrow at all.

Try rebooting your computer and restarting SC4, if the issue is still there, something has to have changed between yesterday and today. Perhaps you installed a mod that removes the texture or somehow it’s a problem with the game files having it missing or corrupted in some way. Honestly, the former is way more likely.  It’s also possible a stealth GPU driver or DirectX update could affect such things, so you should check and see what, if anything has updated on your system.

i have reinstalled from Origin the SimCity 4 deluxe game ran diagnostic for direct-x and intel graphics driver no problems found. Still same issue or I think there is an issue but there is none. After I place the blank tile the lot becomes blue with the arrow pointing towards the ave.

Did you buy your copy from origin or did you activate an external CD key at origin?

I ask because if you bought the game through the origin store, it's an evil unpatchable version that does not fully support modding because it's missing some essential updates.
There is a thread around here with some more info about this and some possible workarounds.

If you're running a vanilla game with no mods, then this is not likely the problem. But if you do have mods, that may be a significant contributor to the issue.

i have the patchable version from Origin. I may have thought that something is wrong ' but after watching a couple YouTube videos my problem is not an actual issue because the same thing happens in their video tutorials. Guess I got confused using custom plopable lots the way they are placed in the game and placing the RCI zone lots.

Oh good! I was like, crud the sales on SC4 ended like 30 minutes ago if it's an origin problem.
