Has anyone else zoned medium density residential and not have any Apartments grow??

I have a population of 15k but no Apts on my main Ave.   Could it be a bug from a particular mod maybe??

Any help would be much appreciated

Ofc, the obvious question is: Did you give them water? And how is your demand graph for low, medium, and high wealth residential?

I played some years back and remember my Apts growing almost immeadiately...   I zoned a bunch low density first but then i started to add medium on my Avenues and nothing is coming up.  Just small homes the same size as the low

The other thing might be since it's on your main Ave there could be too much traffic noise and they are adverse to living there. You might try a side street off of the avenue so they are at least 4 cells from the noise and add a bus stop across the street or adjacent to the residential zoning.

I would think a population of 15k would not have a lot of traffic.

i started very small and slow. My traffic is not bad either.

I have not started to build my transportation infrastructure yet so let me try that.

Yeah, traffic air pollution is a big negative for residential. Commercial, on the other hand, likes the high traffic volume of avenues (although also doesn't like air pollution). I wouldn't zone residential along avenues, generally.

    First off, thanks Psiman.

I dont put much...  I have mainly commercial and city buildings off the Ave. So i occasionally plop a medium density off the Ave to help with residential demand and keep traffic to a minimum in the neighborhoods

My air pollution is under control as well. The land value around some parts is high so im not sure why 1 Apt has not showed up. really weird. I dont remember it being like this...lol

A trick I use is to plop a few bus stations where I want apartments to grow. Once it does, then bulldoze them. Or all but one if you need it for their transportation.

Parks, and other civic buildings, also provide a transient aura effect, which is a massive boost to desirability in surrounding squares, which lasts for a few months, and helps promote growth.

SimCity 4 is a very complex game, its a bit of a double edged sword as that's what makes it so good but at the same time has a steep learning curve.

When using the Print Screen button it puts the image in your clipboard. You then need to open Paint (or some image editing software) and paste it. Then save.

you might be able to paste it straight to Imgur, also save it as a PNG and not a bitmap hahhah, bitmaps are so 1990s

Could be. I'm not familiar with imgur, but newer versions of Paint allow saving in JPG. *;)

So the thing is you need to expand horizentally before you can start getting more dense and vertical growth, also do you have the NAM, you know Diagonal Streets is a thing, the STNAM fixes some bugs in the game, make sure you have plenty of Com and Ind.
