The sort of townhouses you show are already in production and will be released as UK Terraced Pack 04 - However due to real life work pressures at the moment, these are unlikely to get released until late Janruary/early February (I've only just started them). Until then I will only be able to finish off what I have nearly completed - which will be two more pubs and a B&Q / Ikea superstore.(probably).

I agree that SC4 needs a lot more Georgian beauties like this.2.gif

There are already some on the STEX by EmmaB, I think, and I also noticed someone else did some recently (?)

Thanks for your comments

Excellent! 9.gif That's one of the quickest and most succesful replies I've ever got! Take as long as you like over them, late Jan/Feb is a-ok by me. And I'm sure they'll be as superb as the others you've done. 19.gif I'll also look forward to the B&Q especially - just need a Curry's, a Halfords and maybe a DFS and its a classicly crap, but British, retail park! 10.gif

BTW they're not bad are they, these little London piles? Obviously I was just browsing the Foxton's website, selecting a possible pad. Just a few million, nothing too fancy. As long as its got space to park the Beamer and about five reception rooms, it'll do me fine! 38.gif

Cheers 44.gif

Estate Agent websites are a good source of residential BAT material, even if you can only dream of that

I don't know what happened to my last post here, the text seems to have disappeared. What I said was I thought we should turn this thread into a place to post information, requests, pictures and BATs of UK Surburban houses. There's so many different styles and uniquely British buildings to create.

The screen shot already posted is inspirational of what can be done, Gascooker, do you have any in game screen shots using your creations yourself?

    These are great.

Is there anything like this in development? You get two types of houses, one a mirror image of the other, and they will be tiled to make a row.

Why does one drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?

Why is delivery by boat called a cargo and one by land called a shipment?

I love these terraces! Such great lots, but as I'm a bit impatient, I made a few different ploppables so I could see them immediately in game. Here's how superb these terraces look!

Here's a wide-angle shot of this inner-city, former industrial housing region:

    image10mn.jpg width=500 height=400 alt=I

I made squares out of the south London terraces and they look pretty cool, with their little spires on the corners:

    image28fe.jpg width=500 height=400 alt=I

A classic inner-city shot, looking down the many rows of little boxes. Reminds me of Selly Oak in Birmingham, where I was a student.

    image37li.jpg width=500 height=400 alt=I

The typically English parade of scabby shops:

And lastly, the back of some corner shops, with a crappy industrial extension. Even Gregg's sports a stereotypical urban artwork on the side.

Thanks gascooker, I've well enjoyed myself making these lots! Hope you don't mind me posting so many! Cheers, and keep 'em coming! 44.gif

I don't know how I missed this thread but I've just found it! Those screenies sure look like what my terraced housing packs were intended to do. Well done Will 3.gif. My cities also look similar to this. Glad you found the prop packs useful for creating your own LOTs.44.gif(I've got another one coming up in a day or so with 6 new pub variations and an inverse terrace piece which you might find useful in building your own stuff)

I'm gonna put together a sort of UK/gascooker/BSC project thread as the begining of this one was mostly intended to counter-act accusations of plagerism, and, I guess I also need somewhere I can remember where it is.

Thanks for all the screenies - its great to see someone who understands their original intention! 44.gif Your enthusiasm is very encouraging. Thanks. Glad you like the BATs.

Check Gascooker's thread in the BSC room, that is where he now reports from.

Hope this is the right place to post this.

I have installed the UK Terraced House Pack 1.  When I run the game, I see a number of large boxes.  When I place my cursor over them, it indicates that they are UK Liverpool Red Terraced.  I was under the impression that this meant that I was missing some kind of file.  I have looked on the site, and don't see a listing of any dependencies.

I am running Windows 98, and using Sim City Rush Hour expansion pack.

Hopefully someone has some ideas to help.  I really REALLY like the look of these buildings and want them in my game.

    Thanks

its probably best to post in my thread as this thread is quite ancient. But its sounds like you are missing the model files, which is strange as they are in the .zip file that the LOTs are in. There should be three called:

    terraced02-0x5ad0e817_0x2de8ceb0_0x260000.SC4Model
    terraced03-0x5ad0e817_0x2de8ceb0_0x2f0000.SC4Model
    terraced04-0x5ad0e817_0x2de8ceb0_0x290000.SC4Model

This set was pre-installer so check you have these files in the right place. I put mine here in a new folder called uk-terracedpack01:

    Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins\BSC\Gascooker\uk-terracedpack01

I love these bats. However, it seems that uk terraced packs 1 and 2 are causing the game to crash which is regretable since I really want to use them. It must be a conflict, but after spending this whole day trying to find it, disabling plugins back and forth like crazy, I still haven't been able to fix it. Does anyone have any suggestion? 42.gif

[Edit:] Removing the gascooker's suburbian packs 01 and 02 halted the immediate crashes I got before. Now, instead, the terraced lots sometimes pop up with the wrong props on them. Suddenly, JENX Paris corner buildings were on two of the lots. So I removed them (with regret), and the game still crashes, just not as regularly as it did before. I guess I just have to face it... I have to reinstall the game and remove and reinstall all plugins. If I am to follow the recommendation of every readme, to install one plugin at a time, that means I'll have to open and reopen simcity some 750 times -- several days of work all together. I with there was an easier way. 8.gif
