SimCity 3000 wont startup

When I startup my SimCity 3000 literally nothing happens (i click start game but nope) but in the task manager i see that it is running. Please Help!!!!!

If u help me I gonna create a mod the same day this is fixed

Are you using the Disc based version or the Digital version from GoG? If it's the Disc based one then it's the DRM borker patch by Microsloth that is the likely culprit.

Here's what's causing the problem: Windows Update KB3086255 blocks SC4 from starting (which is also the case for any disc based game using DRM). If you are using Windoze Vista, 7, 8 or 8.1 you can prolly use this workaround. The page is talking about SC4, but the code shown is simply to re-enable the safedisc DRM checker which would apply to any disc based game that's affected by Microsloth's patch.

If you are on Windows 10, you'll need to get a digital version of the game. (There is a workaround, but it requires having the secdrv.sys file from a previous version and then using admin rights to sign some certificate file. I don't know the details of how to do this and it's highly recommended that you don't.)

Another option is to play the game on an older comp with XP.

I quoted myself and bolded the part that answers your question.

See, that particular form of Digital Rights Management was used by thousands of games. When MS was dreaming up ways to anger peeps they decided to claim it was a security risk and disabled it via one of their updates. I forget who it was, but I gave that same linky to someone else and they were able to follow the instructions and get their disc based game running on one of the later Windoze versions. (But not applicable to Win 10.)

I haven't personally tested it myself because I just have a dedicated XP comp for SC4 and SC3K. Eventually when I want to install lots of plugins I'll prolly have to move the game to one of my faster Win 7 comps. Since I have the digital versions from GoG, I won't have to worry about the workaround.
