Hi!
I like (almost) all music, from Bach to deadmau5 through Abba, Eminem and Romeo Santos. I can also mention some of my local artists like Tanxugueiras, Carlos Núñez or the group A Roda. The last concert I went to, the David Guetta concert, and it was amazing. There were literally more Guetta fans than inhabitants in the city where it was held (+200,000 people). But I also went to classical music concerts and loved them too.

So we could say that I like everything, but no, there is one genre that gives me a headache most of the time and that is reggaeton. Already to begin with because the rhythm is repetitive to the extreme most of the time. Also because the singers have no talent. But the worst thing, without a doubt, are the lyrics. Those of you who don't speak Spanish have the tremendous luck of not understanding what they say (and well, even though I'm a native speaker I don't understand them sometimes either, why lie).

But when I do, they basically they talk about sex, tits, asses and car and expensive clothing brands like Gucci, Prada or Ferrari. More than a song, it sounds like an ad for a "tacky luxury" mall with naked women and phosphorescent tuned cars.

That sounds a lot like Greek trap. Terrible music, voices so autotuned they sound like robots, and lyrics full of sexism, materialism and violence.

I've never heard or read about it, but I'm curious now, so I'll look it up

Thank you for welcoming me. And about the band you mention, I didn't know them, nor do I know anyone who listens to them. I never heard a song of theirs on the radio stations I listen to or saw them on any TV show, so I would say they are a social media phenomenon more than anything else. Or atleast they aren't commercial. Maybe in the indie scene they are famous, I don't know about that because I'm not into it

Popular artists here are mostly Ana Mena, Blas Cantó, Alejandro Sanz, Pablo Alborán, Rosalía, Bad Gyal, Pablo López, Mónica Naranjo, Omar Montes, C. Tangana, Lola Índigo, Aitana, David Bisbal... The truth is that the Spanish commercial music nowadays tends to be mostly made up of soloists. Bands had their golden moment years ago (the 80's, the 90's), Héroes del silencio, Siniestro Total, Seguridad Social, Dover... Even in the early 2000's,  but they are not as popular anymore.

I also have to admit that I prefer "anglo" music generally. Atleast when we talk about mainstream artists, I think that both English and American commercial music are superior to Spanish commercial music.

My submission to "Good Autotune": (well I had to edit because I chose the wrong video, this is the right one)

Mostly do covers, but have a few original things. You should be able to figure out what caught my eye *:D

Well, they're not bad. It's not my preferred style of music but I wouldn't have any problem to listen to it, and I like how they dress, atleast in this video. I searched info about them and they're from the same region as me.

And yes, I can perfectly figure what caught your eye. 😀

Ya - they are quite nice - not bad at all.

And of course you can use any tool in an artistic creative way, but sadly most use Autotune to make uniform uninteresting music, taking away everything that might have been interesting about the human voice they spoil.

Yeah, I agree with you. I also think that a lot of nowadays singers (I refuse to call them artists) use autotune to hide their lack of talent, like if it were a "mask" for their bad voices or performance. I would say that this trend of using technology to make bad singers sound (not really be) great started in the past with some very famous singer, but today is more common than ever.

I, like you, think that it it's totally different from, for example, what Fred again (I don't know if you know him) does. But in short, he creates entire songs out of only a few words or sentences. I love it.

Two of my favourites:

Don't know him. Honestly find it hard to cope with the metallic robot sounds of the singers.

I would prefer something like this, where the “tune” is used to create a certain “mood”

As a ref. this is how he sounds in natural voice. He is an ok singer

I've never heard the songs you posted but they're great too! , I like them. I like electronic music so I don't have problems with some type of sounds, but it's understandable that if you don't, you find them strange, annoying or something else. As we say here "para gustos, colores", meaning that there are things for every taste, every preference and it's respectable to choose one or another.

Got nothing against electronic music, I am just not good with the metallic sound of autotuned vocals. Electronic music was invented long before they began using "tune". Love a lot of that from the ambient to the dance friendly. I'm quite old, so listen to music from many different periods and in any genre.

This time I knew your song before.😅 And I always liked it... And yes, just like you I try to listen different things. I have a box with different CDs. In that box I have Bonnie Tyler, Linkin Park, Coldplay, Nino Bravo (I don't know if you know him), Christina Aguilera, Tckaikovski, Santana, Maroon 5 along with many others, all together in the same box...  I never use them now but I like to "take care" of the box equally. I have it in my room and sometimes I clean it and check all the discs that are inside. So yes I agree that is good to listen to different things.

Well, if you get bored tomorrow(God knows I do, on every holiday) they usually do an annual Halloween show. Better than handing out candy to ungrateful brats(if that's  a tradition in Spain).

Or you could just go old school...

Hi! Our vacation isn't tomorrow, it is the 1st of November "Día de Todos los Santos" (All Saints Day). Tomorrow we still have to work, go to school and all those things. And now, although it's not traditional some people do here the Trick or Treat thing. I don't, I carve the pumpkins (that's traditional), and I put myself maybe a wig and some makeup but nothing else. Halloween started to be a thing here recently. In my region we always have had Samaín (originally written as Samhain). It is a Celtic tradition, and we are descendants of them so we still do it. But in other parts of Spain where they're descendants of another culture, they don't have it.

And again, good music!

For me, it is Rap - Hip Hop, because of the vulgar language, violent images, and the content mainly revolves around social issues. It doesn't reach the heart.
