I am a new member of simtropolis but by no means a new member of simcity, i have been playing simcity for as long as i can remember, i just recently started wanted to download buildings off of this website and can not figure out how to get them onto the game, i was wondering how to do this, and another question is, well it is quite obvious that simcity 4 is a very very much harder game than sc3000 and i cant seem to get my cities much over 120,000 nothing wants to build, my buisness demands are down even with the taxes as low as i can go, my industries dont seem to want to build either even with low taxes same story with residential, is there any tips on going big with these cities, thanx for any help

    Welcome to Simtropolis 35.gif

To get downloaded lots into your game, first make sure you have all the necessary requirements. You will need the buildings as props 1 and 2 files from the official website . These can be found on the Lot Editor download page, but you must be registered and logged in to see and download the files. For some lots and all BATs you will need Rush Hour (or SC4 Deluxe).

Once you have downloaded the lot file from the STEX, unzip it. If there is an exe file inside, double clicking it will automatically install the files to the correct place. If is no exe file, but there are other kinds of files in the zip, then extract them to your ...My Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins folder.

Be sure to read any Readme or other instructions in the zip as well as the description on the STEX, as lots and BATs often require other files to be downloaded in order to work properly (dependencies). A good lot maker or BATter always tells you which files are required and where to find them.

There is an omnibus article here that describes in more detail the process and how to solve some of the problems you may encounter.

Also, most , if not all of the lots and buildings here are put into your comp. as ZIP. files. you will need an extractor to install these, such as WinRAR, it's not hard to do.
