i've a problem
when i have fairly big city's, the game chrashes suddenly.
sometimes it happens when i just open a city, and sometimes it doesn't happen for hours.
i think the problem is a corrupted BAT building, but i dont know for sure.
maybe you guys know more?

It may be a shortage of memory, how much do you have? [physical][virtual]

EDIT:  Try rebooting before starting the game, that will clear all of the cached memory.

Both of those could be the problem. I had a similar problem: I had accidentally deleted an exemplar in one of my lot files, and every time I placed it the game shut off. Try isolating the file you think is corrupted and go into the city. If it works, there will be a brown box somewhere... bulldoze it and you're good to go.

i too have problems with the game shutting off suddenly. it appears for me anyway, that the problem occurs most after either playing the game for a long time or after not having restarted my computer in a long time. i agree that restarting b4 playing might help, as it seems to for me. i started having my problem soon after i downloaded a great deal of GLR (light rail) BATs, but so far havent determined if one of them is corrupted.

If you'd think it's a corrupted BAT building or lot, then I suggest you to read my article on what you can try out for yourself...

Look for issue #3 on what to do...

It's an step-by-step howto about plugins that are causing crashes...

If this doesn't help at all, please describe your problem more extensively 2.gif
or you can send me a private message...44.gif

This sounds like the problem I am having (see my thread below this)

Computers are so volatile; yesterday the game was working fine, and all I have done since then is install a few BATs; I removed the new BATs and it still freezes, despite the fact the conditions are exactly the same as yesterday.

A program, like there is for The Sims, which searches for corrupted and broken plugin files would be very useful.  It is so hard to fix these things, there are countless things which can make a game crash.
