My Sims Wont Die

I couldnt help but notice the difference between my older developed neighborhoods from my newer developed neighborhoods. The older neighborhoods are filled with happy healthy and old sims. And my new neighborhoods just fill up, go jobless and--very quickly--they become abandoned... And upon my investigation I have found the old sims are stuck at the ages between 51-60. I set the speed to ultra and just watched the data map and they refuse to age any longer... even after 50 years. Kudos to them for hanging on but they are really screwing up the rest of my city... Any ideas without having to reset the city?

you need to make sure both of your old and new cities are well connected with public transportations and highways, so sims in all your cities, both young and old will find jobs in the neighboring cities. currently, my region is rapidly approaching 300k pop, and my big city, which is still developing and growing has over 250k people, and almost all of them have a job. that's because my entire region is connected with evelated trains, subways, buses and highway. so all my sims can work and live in the surrouding cities. also it is a good thing to have long lived and well educated sims. they will be the stepping stones for getting big skyscrapers in the late game. finally, make sure you have NAM (network addon mod), this mod makes your sims' commute time more realistic. the default commute time in the villina game is too short, sims who travel only 1/3 way across the city consider themselve long travel time (but in real life most of us travel longer than that to get to work). remember, long travel time is the NO.1 cause for jobless sims, which always lead to abandoned buildings.

Isn't the OP's inquiry in the wrong forum as well the tip given for assistance.  Otherwise, I didn't even know it was possible to find out the age of the Sims in SC2013!!  Learning something new everyday and all the time!!
