problem with the box that comes up for rendering

I tried to find a forum for this problem, i tried pressing ctrl.,shift,alt.,and r and the box that is suppose to come up doesnt. What should i do? Thanks for any help, and if there is a posting for this please direct me to it. Thanks

There are a couple threads on this problem, but none are very clear.

Here are the best suggestions I could find:

1; When you load the region, hit the 'Esc' key a few times to make sure no city is selected. Then try 'Ctrl' + 'Alt' + 'Shift' + 'R' .
2; If you have an infrared (wireless) keyboard, you may need a keyboard with an actual wire for it to work.
3; A test you could try is to load an actual city tile, and try pressing 'Ctrl' + 'Alt' + 'Shift' + 'R' in mayor mode. If it does nothing, then it means it's either a problem with your keyboard, or a problem with the way you are pressing the buttons... because in mayor mode, 'Ctrl' + 'Alt' + 'Shift' + 'R' should bring up some weird dialogue box not related to maps.

If any of these suggestions help, let us know and I will pin this thread for others who may have this problem.
