As I am new in custom content and the forum very large, please excuse me if an answer has already been given. I don't found.

What is the best way to find a missing item in a lot ?

As exemple, I downloaded the BLSGA Ranch Reindeer Retreat by barbyw.
When I open it in SC4tool for control, I see in dependencies that PEG_WaterPlants_PROP_205.dat is missing. Barbyw link for this file to PEG Pond Kit Deluxe Edition. I suppose that Pegasus modified previous files and repacked them. Always in SC4tool, I see that items 0x0E80172C and 0x2E8017C5 are missing. As no other item in the pack come from PEG, I suppose that they are in the PEG_WaterPlants_PROP_205.dat. PEG_WaterPlants_PROP_205.dat include 3 dat's. Opening them with datgen, I see that no item in these dat's have these numbers.

This is only an example and I have more cases (nothing against barbyw :-)

I suppose that the forum moderators, lot developpers, have a lot of work already so how to bother the less possible ?

    1) message to barbyw asking for the reason of the missing items
    2) message to pegasus asking for the old file
    3) delete the file, say nothing and find anything else

    or perhaps

    4) you don't know how to use SC4tool and datgen, please learn before to ask  48.gif

    Any idea welcome.

The best way to find the dependencies is to use the Readme file that is installed with the lot. For the BLS GA Reindeer Retreat the links in the Readme go to the files that you need. There ia also a copy of the Readme included in the zip and it opens at the end of the install too.

SC4Tool is excellent for tracing down missing dependencies but the primary source for any BSC BAT or lot file is the Readme. SC4Tool is also more intended for developers than new users and if you use the Readme then there should be no need to use SC4Tool as a control.

A PM to me will also always receive a reply so for specific problems please feel free to do that.
