Royman Valley

The region comprised of 18 cities, some built on the water, known as the Royman Valley is a major hub for development. In a short time, you'll see a massive rail network emerge, RCI of all sizes, and the occasional landfill.

Here's a teaser: the entire valley. The first image is the west side, the second is the east side.

(All images are linked and resized, to prevent hogging ST's bandwidth. xs.to is what I use to upload: it's ImageShack with a higher size limit of 1500 KB)

I rather like the region. One suggestion, though, snowcaps would look nice on these mountains. And, some trees.

But otherwise, this should be excellent for development.

Nine degrees of separation??

I don't have the Columbus mod. But, I do have an update in the works: the capitol has been built! And, I'm looking to join the SCJU on this one...

http://xs.to/xs.php?h=xs58&d=05490&f=RV6.png  This one is pre-update, showing the land to be developed.

The capitol is up, and here are some pictures of the modest city of 10,000...

http://xs.to/xs.php?h=xs58&d=05490&f=Dec10-RV.png  The Valley Towne Centre is in place, with eight to ten shops. It is also Christmas lighted (thanks to the Christmas Development Kit).

http://xs.to/xs.php?h=xs58&d=05490&f=RV3.png  The Royman Valley Central Harbor is also in town, on the north end. Also shown is a considerable amount of resulting hotels, driving commercial service counts.

http://xs.to/xs.php?h=xs58&d=05490&f=RV4.png A DoubleTree and Super 8 at the interchange of the Industrial Motorway (M1) and the Loop 1 around the area.

http://xs.to/xs.php?h=xs58&d=05490&f=RV5.png The other major centre of note in town is that of a big box chain: the King Mandon Centre, named after the region's founder, who is currently the King of Royman Valley.

http://xs.to/xs.php?h=xs58&d=05490&f=RV7.png C-B-D...not much else to say.

http://xs.to/xs.php?h=xs58&d=05490&f=RV8.png In preparation for the integration of the Royman Valley journal into the SCJU, a large amount of land was reserved for embassies from anywhere else. (Please provide a general style, then submit it to me. The embassies will be CO$$$ with lots of jobs.

http://xs.to/xs.php?h=xs58&d=05490&f=RV9.png Not only is there a plotch of land for an embassy or two, there's a Piggly Wiggly next door. All your groceries in one place.

Well, that's it for tonight. There's more to this update (1), but an update 1a will be created for the rest of the pictures. I'll be back tomorrow with those pictures (which are on my computer, but still need to be moved to the XS.TO servers).

It looks very cool, however I'm not really happy with the hyperlinks to the pictures

The region looks nice. Those mountain lines parallel to the river are promising interesting pics(IF you use them!).

    Two things:

    1. Hyperlinks for pics
Not hogging ST's bandwidth is honorable and a good intention yet just posting hyperlinks is NOT the best way to attarct viewers. It is as much bandwidth saving if you use the button right next to add hyperlink. That way the pic will be loaded from offside and shown but the viewer / poster / lurker dos not have to click on the link.

    2. PNG
Please NEVER upload png's - even on my 512kbps - connection they take ages to load - think about those who are still on 56K! Always convert them to jpg (like you did with the first two pics)

To add on a little piece to Nardo's comment, some CJs have used a smaller version of a pic as a link image to a larger version hosted offsite. Not ever having had a CJ, I can't really testify as to how to do it, but it seems like a decent solution in some cases. That said, the city looks very nice, although I'd like to see another pic of the airport. It looks like it has an interesting design.

    Royman Valley | Capitol-1a

CA1.png.xs.jpg This picture has no relevance....rather than just to show some new development near the Valley Mall...

RV10.png.xs.jpg The Valley Walk...complete with a passenger rail connection.

RVXI.png.xs.jpg The imposing greenhouse-building is the Royman Train Company headquarters. The company runs all rail lines in the region.

    http://xs.to/xs.php?h=xs58&d=05490&f=RV12.png A residential cross intersection.

RV13.png.xs.jpg Capitol Medical is a major medical centre, located in Residential-West.

That's all. Next time...a new industrial district, JPGs, and more of what you love! This is King Mandon...signing off!

quote> Nope...the hoster uses small images. Don't forget, I commit myself to keeping picture sizes down...there are dial-up users out there...

I hope you are not closing because of picture problems.  I had some problems with people not liking my posted pictures and closed my CJ as well.  I plan on restarting the CJ with a different pic approach very soon though.

There are many ways to post pics on Simtropolis and you were doing fine.  Your region looked fantastic and I enjoyed the pics of your capital.  I would like to make a request for some zoomed out pics of the city so I (and others of course) can get a feel for how the whole city is shaping up.

If you are closing the CJ due to city design problems then I wish you the best of luck in working those out and will wait for the rebirth of your new city!
