This topic will be my little personal pick of mods and other workshop submissions I think are worth sharing, or just ones that I happen to notice!

We can include buildings here but remember to contribute the very best buildings to Cool_Z's

In this one I'll also include stuff that can still do with some work but that looks promising.

I'll start with this road one I found earlier.

Hi guys I just saw a new mod that was published earlier today by MikeDoubleU which some of you may love.

German Roads

It's experimental atm, and still has a few issues according to the description.

The mod currently doesn't have any images on Steam so I thought I'd share these here.

They look pretty good too:

Although the no-zoning might be a bit of an issue but these are still useful just for the speed limits imo.

Another very promising mod has just been released:

    CrossingsSpectra's debut mod.

With this mod you can place better looking zebra crossings very easily :)

Be sure to check it out!

This mod allows you to places crossings on your roads at locations other than intersections and transitions between road types (where they are automatically placed).

It seems that you can place crossings on the pink play streets of the some roads mod too, but they won't show the textures, which is pretty cool since its a "play street" anyway and people can cross at any point:

You can also use them to create better transitions, since the normal ones for some roads are not that polished yet:

I think Germany uses metric km :)

But I guess 200 is around 125 mph yeah... crazy.

However, the speed signs in Germany do show a supposed 130kmh (80ish mph) but it's not generally respected nor really enforced, I believe.

Correct. But as a German I can confirm that most people drive no faster than 130 km/h. Making 200 the general speed of traffic flow in this mod is just nonsense :D

Ahahaha, yeah then thats pretty funny... maybe we can suggest better limit in the Mod comments : )

I think it's in KM xonedl, because the speed signs in town say 45, and 45 miles an hours is very fast to  be driving around a town.

    IT'S HERE EVERYONE!

Traffic Manager V 0.6B  has been released this morning. It looks AWESOME.

Be sure to check it out!

A few things regarding Autobahns; altough there is officially no national speed limit on German Autobahns, there is another superimposed limit: if you driver faster than the advisory speed of 130 km/h, you're only partially or even not insured. So basically, driving fast is at your own risk. This is why the mean speed is somewhere around 120-130 km/h. Besides, there are a lot of local speed limits of 100, 120 or 130 km/h and trucks are limited to 80 km/h...

Furthermore, I'd like to see two-lane country roads with a speed limit of 80 km/h ;)

Read the Readme or drown in bugs and glitches; the choice is yours...

The mean speed here in germany is around 130 km/h because there are so many trucks polluting our autobahn. You ARE insured even if you go beyond 200km/h. But in fact, you simply can't go that fast long. Except in the middle of the night from saturday to sunday as there is no truck traffic allowed ;)

you are insured but 130km/h is the so called "richtgeschwindigkeit" (which is no speedlimit of course)!

so every insurance will say it's in part your fault because your driving was risky, even though someone else might have messed up and crashed you while you couldn't do much about it (so driving 20km/h wouldn't have helped you.. but the other dude would have to pay everthing if you were). you'll have to pay like half of the mess.

its just like driving backwards. if you drive backwards in germany and someone else crashes you, your insurance will always say its your fault in part cause you weren't careful while driving backwards.

(btw i can tell you lots of exellent spots where you can drive fullspeed most of the time.)

yeah it's almost as bad as those new busses pretending to be ferraris and jamming left lanes of our autbahns since 2013. :noway::P

    Hello all!

I bring some absolutely awesome news from the modding world! In case you didn't notice, a mod called AdvancedBuilding 0.1 has recently (like half an hour ago) re-appeared on the Workshop.

    Get this:

It allows you to plop any prefab anywhere, in any game mode.

You can pick placement mode, etc. you can plop growables, or pretty much anything else.

A fantastic tool to test your growables if you are a content creator, etc. This mod has SO many applications its insane, get ready for workshop frenzy imo :P Elevated cargo rail stations anyone? Buildings in intersection assets? I mean don't quote me but I'm so excited by the possibilities this mod opens in the coming weeks as its author, rollo, steadily improves and fixes it.

    Slghsjv.png

Each one of those buttons opens a HUGE list of things you can place.

You can do this in map editor, asset editor, and in-game, which is so awesome its crazy.

However this mod is still in development and, I quote:

!!! IT WILL BREAK THE GAME AND DESTROY YOUR SAVES !!!

no kidding, placing some of the stuff will break the game in some crazy ways

This tool allows placing most of the in-game prefabs in any game mode.

If you want to test your custom building it's a mod for you.
If you want to mess with the game it's for you
If you are a regular player IT'S NOT FOR YOU

    My color emphasis :D

I feature it here because once this gets polished it will be pretty much my favourite mod ever :)

exercise extreme care if you decide to test this, back up all your saves, etc. I am not responsible for anything that might happen to your precious cities:P

EDIT: Seems like his latest update broke the mod for now, hopefully tomorrow it will work again.

EDIT2:Mod is up and "working" again :D

Yes, but please be careful, don't use this in your main city, make backups etc. Read mod description :) Only for testing stuff etc for now.

Generally you should be safe when only placing buildings. I got some reports that changing build modes might break stuff but haven't experienced that. Also props are safe too.

As to networks some stuff there might break your game.

But how do you know... Do you stalk him? :P

Since CSL, there are a lot of new members on the forums. Also many content creators register here. I like that.

I would like to use the mod, but since it can destroy and mess up things. I think I'm not going to try it. Besides that, my laptop will propably crash when it's on half way with loading. :(
