BAT update problem

I have updated my SC4 deluxe into 1.1.638.0 and have confirmed it got updated. But BAT update to version 640 doesn't finish. it says i have a missing registry/INI entry. do i need to reinstall the game or what? Does BAT update have different region versions too like 638 update, because i think i have UK version from cd and from forums it seems to me that some people with UK versions have kind of similar problems. I remember with my last computer i had darknights nightlights working, so i had to have been able to update to 640, but this time having problems.. and i don't understand why. is it just something that have got corrupted somehow.

What regristry entry/ini file does it say is missing?  Knowing the specific information missing may help in diagnosing your issue.

it doesn't specify.. i quoted exactly how the error report was. but after that it pops another error window saying that old file doesn't exist. Makes me wonder which file. as you can see, i'm quite a $%&^! when dealing with such unexpected errors. i guess i should try to reinstall.

Before you do anything so drastic, try downloading the patch file again.  Where did you get it?  There are several sources and you could try a different one.
