Modding zoning possible? Building sizes?

I am in love with Cities: Skylines!!  Buut.. I can't help feeling that their zoning and growable building sizes are holding this game back some.  So my questions:

#1- I hate the current way wealth and density interact.  It appears to me that level 5 low density is equivalent to level 1 high density.  Which makes NO sense in my mind.  I much prefer SC4's Low, Medium, High density and then $, $$, $$$ wealth levels for each.  It seems to make a lot more sense and would really allow for a lot of uniqueness in our cities etc...

#2- Has it been determined if adding in zones (medium density zones for example, or "strip mall zone") would be possible?

#3- Can we mod growable building sizes yet?

Just curious if anyone has made progress on any of these by chance?

I wish that we could plop Residential, Shopping, Industrial, and Office buildings. That would be a way to control the appearance of the city, complete with larger lots and micromanagement.

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

We need a medium density and we need better wealth levels.  Each density should be 3 levels; low, medium and high wealth.

I think that it would be best, in my opinion, to have the following: maximum zone cell depth being 8 tiles (so maximum zoned building would be 64x64 meters), 3 densities of residential and commercial, 2 densities of offices, 2 densities of industry, 5 wealth levels of residential with little-to-no increase in average population capacity with increased wealth, 4 wealth levels of offices (ranging from all workers being elementary school educated, through most being high school educated with a few elementary school educated, through most being high school educated with a few university educated, to all being university educated) with the dense highest wealth office being that ugly futuristic one that reminds me of Alienware computers (plus similar ones made as mods or DLC), a new level for generic industry (level 4 being clean high tech, which is just like normal level 3 but shinier, slightly futuristic, and not polluting at all), a new level for specialized industry (pollutes less, produces more processed resources while depleting natural resources in the ground less, requires more educated workers), and ploppable functional RCI for bigger buildings and special shops that sell 1 type of resource (furniture stores for processed forrestry, grocers for processed agriculture, farmers' markets for raw agriculture (maybe a unique building that requires a certain number of fields), gas stations for oil, and possibly others).

If these zoning changes were implemented along with the expected mods and DLC, this game could be more realistic while being easier once the Large Hadron Collider is built.
