you can use whichever platform you want, as long as steam is installed. you don't have to buy additional copies afaik as long as a single instance of steam is logged it at the same time.

Also, for mac/linux make sure to disable the steam overlay for now, since apparently there is a bug.

Yep, the same applies to their other games.

I got Cities in Motion 2 back in 2013 on Windows, and installed Steam on Linux within the few months and got some of my 'fix' playing CiM2 in Linux.  Now I just play C:S on Linux and don't bother with Windows.

I was playing Cities in Motion 2 with a GT210 at the start, but was discouraged enough by the performance to get a GT740 GDDR5 instead.

It's no GTX card, but it's still a huge improvement.

Good to know! I had the same question as I'm working with Linux 99% of the time. This way I can even compare between Windows and Linux with dual-booting.

But I will have to wait for some more weeks, first have to order and receive a new pc.  :(   Oh well....

Well, my system is from 2009 with a GeForce GTX 295. Pretty top-notch in those days.  :)

But the card broke down, so I'm now running it with an even older video card for the time being. Works fine......but not for games.

So now I'm looking for a new state-of-the-art system on which I will run Linux. Only dual-booting to Windows for games that require it.
