American Sniper (WARNING - SPOILERS)

So yesterday I decided to see American Sniper and find out about what the fuss was all about regarding the film. At first I thought it was going to be an 'America, f**k yeah!' type of film but I was completely wrong. 

Anyway I really want to hear from you guys about the film and what YOU thought of it.

What I gather the fuss is about is not so much the film itself but the reaction from the mainstream media(Especially Fox News) and a decent percentage of viewers about the film and their obsession and fascination with it, which in all honesty, can easily be perceived as morbid.

 

For example, one might be forgiven for viewing the killing and de-humanization(through the use of words such as "evil", "savages" etc to describe the victims) of non-combatants (especially children) as a heinous crime, and as something which immediately disqualifies someone from hero-hood. 

 

Personally I don't enjoy films about human suffering, violence, war, and that type of stuff so I haven't watched it. But I've read about the fuss
