i have yet to add any mods into my game, haven't played either in months. Can someone please remind me where i would place the downloads. any  recommended mods?

On the download pages of every mod on Simtropolis (maybe not some) are the same instructions to install mods: Place package files in C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\SimCity\SimCityData folder.

 

If you've been away for a while, I would suggest Project Orion for bigger maps. Project Akar for a UI enhancement (and more) UDoNs for one-way roads, and other misc mods you'll have to download yourself, such as regional bridges and tunnels, Bi-Level Streets, and etc.

 

Download the Orion's Belt modpack if you want some basic functionality, or get the SUGCPack on Simtropolis. There is also a SkyePack, but you'll have to Google that.

ok thanks, that rings a bell from the older SC4, I'm a mac so gotta find the folder again

so i downloaded files listed with a few others, i followed the steps on where to place them in the specified folders. For some reason they aren't showing up on my game. Im sure i unzipped them. Is there an app i should be using or just unzipping from the folder? not sure if i need an unzip app?
