New to NAM- how do I connect RHW puzzle pieces to offramps?

I can't find a comprehensive tutorial or instructions for NAM online, so I am learning as I go along. Which is very, very, very.. tedious!

I figured out how to create a five lane highway using the RHW pieces, but I can't figure out how to make the offramp connectors line up with the lanes properly.

What pieces should I be using for this?

Here is an image of what I am trying to do:

Looks to me like you are using a RHW-2 ramp there, you need a RHW-10s Ramp Piece. When the ramp item is selected you can press TAB to go through all the available ramp options, although for 10s ramps using SHIFT+TAB to go backwards is much less tedious.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

    ^Thanks.

Now how do I make the offramp connect to a road (picture below)? It appears that it is functionally connected, it just looks bad.

Well your basic problem is that you've used a ramp piece that elevates the off/on ramp, but the road you are connecting to is not elevated. But moreover there is a better way as dragging a OWR like MIS into a 2 way Road is really not ideal. So to begin I'd remove the current 180 Degree ramp, and the road running north-south from the crossing point.

When you place the ramp you usually get an MIS stub, using the RHW tool that you dragged the RHW10s with, drag from this starter and it automatically switches to MIS for you (note some configurations require you to place an MIS starter, but the 10-S type A ramp you are using doesn't). Instead of using puzzle pieces (like the curved ramp) you need to work out which combination of pieces and road dragging best fits the junction you want. In this case you can drag MIS at a 90 Degree angle and then again to make a 180 Degree turn and then drag the network into a road.

You won't make this work if a road goes from the centre of the crossing southwards, because the OWR/Road transition problem, it's technically possible but I would advise against it from a traffic flow perspective.

Awesome, thanks! I don't know what the lingo is (MIS, OWR), but I get the basic idea. As a newbie I am ready for the battle that is NAM!

Have you watched Haljackey's "Building a City from Scratch" video series on YouTube? He uses RHW a lot in building that city, and by watching those videos, it really helped me learn a lot about the RHW and the NAM.

Uh, yeah, @ 100 videos and each video 1 hour each, I don't think that brain surgeons go through that much training!

100 hours of training is nothing.  Think about the number of hours you put in for a language course at two hours a week.
