What to do with the Academy

I was curious, what to do with the Academy once all the research projects are completed.  I am only about 3 projects away from completing all the research projects at the Academy.

 

1) I assume I have to keep it for the control net points.  Will the number of people attending the academy drop and therefore the number of control net points available to the region?

 

2) Can I bulldoze the Academy and just place Control Net Stations, or do the stations need the Academy.

 

3) If I place another Academy in another city, can I re-do the research projects, or will they be unavailable.

1&2. One Academy is needed per region in order to build ControlNET stations. The number of people at the Academy will not drop unless you have too many jobs.

3. Research is region-wide.

Personally I find the building so cool that I'd keep it around anyway just for aesthetic purposes.

If possible, I could try to make a Megatower floor that can emit ControlNet.
