Graphics corrupt at certain zoom levels

Hi, i'm using PPond Kit by Pegasus. Can anyone tell me why I have black marks in the water at zoom levels 1, 2 and 3? (1 being zoomed out the furthest)

My plugin folder is empty apart from PPond kit. I've tried different versions and variations of Pond kits but they all show this anomoly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also using Jeronij's ploppable water, when i zoom out the water changes to squares rather than the shapes shown at closer zoom levels. Has anyone else experienced this?

First what are the specs of your graphics card?  Also are you using hardware or software rendering?  Also what you are seeing may just be how the lots are interacting with each other.  Try using rocks or other MMPs in the black marks to 'mask' them.

Graphics card is Gigabyte HD 7970 OC. I'm using hardware rendering.

If I zoom out further the black parts of the water get even larger so can't disguise with props.

I've tried software rendering, there are less black glitches but still noticeable.

Those images are too small for me, at least, to notice any problem.  If you are going to produce screen shots, make them full screen please.

    Here are some bigger images,

You can see a large amount of black in the water on this one -     https://i.imgur.com/VqLxY4g.jpg

This image looks ok -     https://i.imgur.com/e1JTMPP.jpg

but when you zoom out to the next level everything goes square -     https://i.imgur.com/ciBmLqM.jpg

What terrain mod are you using?  This looks pixelated and it is strange that it happens with POVs lower rather than higher.  Graphics is not one of my strong suits, so perhaps someone with more knowledge of your GPU should chime in.

There's nothing wrong here. The 'black' water in pic1 is because the models overlap. Pic2 and pic3 simply shows the difference in zoom level. In short, no graphics corruption, this is just how these waters look at the respective zoom levels.

Also, try making the land perfectly level and then place the water.  The 'water' is land conforming so what you may be seeing is the water at different angles that causes the color differential.

I can confirm what Vortext is saying, these plopable waters have some downsides, for example try all 4 rotations of your map with JRJ's water and you'll see it's no longer in the same place (more noticeable if you decorate the shorelines first).

For the Ppond kit, try using the lot-based water and just filling the edges with MMPs and more generally careful placement of each click with MMP's to avoid overlapping where possible helps to minimise these unwanted effects.

Thanks to everyone who replied, good to know that it's a limitation of the mod rather than a problem specific to myself.  :thumb:
