Help With The University

Hello & first off thanks for having a look at this!

 

Ok so my problem is this. I can't get my University up to 2,000 Sims.

I have been playing this game for well over a year now. I have tried many different things to fix it but the end result is always the same. I think the highest I have got to is 1,975

 

I have been looking for help on this for some time now & can't seem to find any!

 

I would really be grateful for any help that can be give.

Typically, there are 3 main causes of the issue you're describing: population, transportation and/or traffic, and neighboring schools.

First, you'll want to make certain you have a high enough local population to ensure you have enough students to reach your goals. Regional students don't travel to universities. Next, assuming you indeed have enough students, you'll need to close any and all competing buildings, namely any other schools, as they are no longer needed. Sims are ageless, and won't "age up" into the university, BUT will go to lower schools first, if they're open and easily accessible. Next, build dormatories which will ensure students don't disperse into the city at night.

Perhaps the biggest issue plaguing the university, and every other civil building and service, is traffic. Simply, if traffic is terrible, your sims can't, and won't get to the university. Ensure your grid allows for reasonable traffic flow, while building an adequate transportation system.

You shouldn't have any issues by following these recommendations. However, if you continue having issues, please let us know.
