The Bay of Guanama - A new dawn.

This is the Bay of Guanama, a collection of archipelagoes and peninsulas, looking west to the Pacific Ocean. This area has never been properly settled, except by pirates and smugglers doing the San Francisco - Callao hashish trade. It's many coves and remote islands served as perfect hiding places for these villainous hauls.

Today however, the landscape remains natural and untouched. This is a strange and uncommon sight, so we propose to build a huge, sprawling metropolis.

It's nothing personal Mother Nature.

This is the San Jacopo Archipelago, a chain of islands stretching around the southern end of the bay.
Bay%20of%20Guanama-1132168142.JPG
These are the northern bays of the peninsula of San Paolo.
Bay%20of%20Guanama-1132168188.JPG
This is the Santa Martina channel, one of the main entrances through the bay from the Atlantic, to the Pacific. This means that rather than paying for use of the Panama Canal, Guanaman ships can just pass through these waters, bringing Guanaman trade to the rest of the world.
Bay%20of%20Guanama-1132168256.JPG
This is the Isla des Montanas, or Island of the Mountains. This secretive place has many unexplored forests and secret gorges. Don't worry, we'll soon have a new expressway from north to south.
Bay%20of%20Guanama-1132168338.JPG
This is the eastern coast of one of the peninsulas. You can see that the chain of islands we saw before now reaches coast to coast from here to the Isla des Montanas.

And that's about it to start with!

I have only used two cheats: The ones where you have no power or water requirements. 28.gifShameful I know, but I really don't like them.

I should also add, this is my very first CJ.

    This is our second visit to Singen Cove, and because of it's prosperous new neighbour, it too is becoming rich and successful.

    A new town is being built next to San Diego. It will be called Dorado, after the gold that was supposed to be here but wasn't actually. Here. In so many words. Ahem.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Dorado-8%20Sep.,%20041133087678.JPG align=baseline>

    This is a basic overview of the city. It has grown very fast in a few short years.
    Dorado-8%20Sep.,%20041133087763.JPG

    This is the Pan Am secondary expressway. It runs through the town and will continue to the rest of the region.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Dorado-6%20Aug.,%20051133087845.JPG align=baseline>

    This is a view of the local school and the library.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Dorado-8%20Sep.,%20041133087694.JPG align=baseline>

    This is the Mayoral Mansion, where mayor Juan Laredo resides. Next to the residence is the Bergham wood.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Dorado-8%20Sep.,%20041133087734.JPG align=baseline>

    This is the poshest residential building in town. It has good transport, education and health facilities, but is rather poorly located on the east side of town.

    Dorado CNN News:

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Dorado-1%20Nov.,%20291133214879.JPG align=baseline>

    On the twenty-ninth of November, the 4.15 from Town Central crashed at Packard Station, near the outskirts of the city. Of the hundred and fifty people travelling on the train, twenty-six died, and forty-three suffered serious injuries. Ambulance and fire crews worked tirelessly to help those trapped in the carriages, but a cut in funding before the accident hampered procedures. The mayor gave a press conference expressing his sorrow at the disaster, but said that the cut should not have had the effect it did.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Dorado-24%20May.,%20361133216263.JPG align=baseline>

    The new county courthouse opened today amid speculations that the first city judge, Hermione Waffle, had had a history of corruption and extortion. Miss Waffle, who was related to the city's most famous criminal, Jeremiah Bagel, has been accused by her contemporaries as an extortionist and blackmailer. They called for an investigation, but the mayor has declared it a no-go area. In a press release, Miss Waffle said the claims against her were unsubstantiated, and she was determined to wreck revenge on her critics.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Dorado-12%20Jan.,%20391133216875.JPG align=baseline>

    A series of suicides in the Blackgate area of the city was brought to a point last night, as father of two, Leonard Emery, threatened to throw himself off this high-rise with his two young children. Police managed to convince him to come down from the roof, and he was placed in a holding cell whilst his children were admitted to hospital following their ordeal. In response to police questioning, Mr Emery refused to give a reason why he had attempted his own life and that of his children, although the area of Blackgate has had problems in the recent past connected to high unemployment, crime and a flourishing cocaine trade.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Dorado-1%20Nov.,%20291133214903.JPG align=baseline>

    Sports news now, and the Santa Barbara Minor League stadium had to be cordoned off by police, following the collapse of one of the visiting players in the game last night. The player, Miguel Santangelo, is in a stable condition in the River Hospital next to the stadium. Police and environmental health agents are unsure at what triggered Mr Santangelo's collapse, although checks are continuing. Games are not expected to continue for several weeks.

    That's all from me, now back to our usual program for the evening...

    A new area has been selected for development.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//South%20Beach-27%20Jan.,%20001133373170.JPG align=baseline>

    This is the proposed South Beach Area, next door to Dorado. As you can see, it is covered in lush forests and has a prominent Pacific coastline.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//South%20Beach-2%20Nov.,%20001133373438.JPG align=baseline>

    This is the first picture of the new town. It is fairly small and unimportant, with a relatively tiny population.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//South%20Beach-28%20Aug.,%20351133457114.JPG align=baseline>

    This shows the new commercial opportunities being brought to the town. I also like the cat sign.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//South%20Beach-29%20Nov.,%20131133382687.JPG align=baseline>

    This is city hall and the surrounding parklands.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//South%20Beach-3%20Aug.,%20361133457335.JPG width=640 align=baseline>

    As the town grows larger, the commercial areas spread.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//South%20Beach-9%20Jun.,%20501133462226.JPG align=baseline>

    Drawn by commercial opportunities, hordes of young professionals flock to the city, settling in large apartment towers like these.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//South%20Beach-16%20Oct.,%20501133462325.JPG align=baseline>

    And it is places like this in which they work.

    Update No...something.

    South%20Beach-30%20May.,%20751133549948.
    You didn't have to wait long!

    This is one of the most developed areas of South Beach, and also one of the newest. There are many high-rises and wealthy commercial buildings. Crime here is some of the lowest in the region, and a new subway system has been implemented.

    South%20Beach-28%20Jan.,%20831133563517.
    This is College Gate. The City College park that you can see, was originally the grounds of the old colonial governors mansion. The mansion was demolished when Guanama became independant and the college was built.

    South%20Beach-26%20Aug.,%20701133548318.

    This artificial island was built for the PalmLeaf Movie Studio. The only way on or off the island is by ferry.

    South%20Beach-12%20Jan.,%20831133563419.

    This is Finance Plaza. Surrounding it is some of the city's most prominent commercial companies. An estimated 3.6 billion American dollars pass through the area every year.

    South%20Beach-8%20Jul.,%20751133550540.J

    The South Beach Opera Hall is lit up for the first performance of that famous opera piece, Little Mouse. The mayor, his wife and extended family are attending the performance.

    South%20Beach-5%20Jan.,%20871133564394.J

    Many people seem to think that the city's tallest building looks very familiar. We cannot say exactly why.

    South Beach Total Population- A staggering 149, 397 people!6.gif

    I'd just like to say, I've never made a city this big or complex. May it continue!
