How do you get started using mods?

Okay, I'm ready to try on some mods for size.  I looked through the modding community, but it mostly seemed to be requests and modding discussion - I'm looking for starter info.

 

Where do I get them?

 

Are we yet at the point where there are a few "must have" mods?

 

How do I install them when I get them?

I hear ya, reminds me when I first got here, trying to figure out which mods are good/stable at least, literally wasting my time installed  some of the mod that's outdated along the way. Even I myself didn't test/try all the mods in  STEX, and there are mods that conflicting each other as well. I will list down some of the best "accordingly" and what I use.

Personally, I would like avoid "Cheat Mods" (capacity upgrade, money cheats etc). It takes the fun away tbh.

To each of its own, the decisions is yours to make.

Those are the list that I've tested personally. To those mods that I didn't list above, believe it or not, either I don't recommend it or I didn't know what it does or I didn't try them yet. Too busy for testing, you might want to give it a trial and error with the rest, perhaps other users can share their experience on them.

 

A lot to catch up to use some of the new/hidden tools brought into the game.

There a quite a few mods now, and yes, it is a lot to think about.

 

Best to just add them one at a time so it doesn't get too confusing. Each mod will usually have instructions on where to place the file.
