Project Anpassad - Custom Strip Malls to Apartments & Communities

Came up with a rather simple idea using PLOPS and the methodology used for plops and hotels or other custom plops to create various Malls, Strip Malls, Apartment Complex's, Inner City Living, Themed Architecture.

 

Using the engine that handles PLOP building of services, hospitals, or other types of component structures this could be used offline to create Strip Malls or even larger constructs.

 

If you have an entrance or base start point with a themed idea then you can continue with as many modules in whatever form you like to allow users to create works of functional constructs in their building.

 

Each custom plop or construct could be unique to cultures or function and also use the aspects of the engine that suit the needs of that specific construct.

 

Mega Towers build UP however there is no reason that structures could not be built around a functional starting point.

 

If that starting point was a entrance with a basic function Residential, Commercial, Industrial or even a service then you could continue to plop around that structure to build a fully functional mall with other aspects and eventually animations (which nobody has really cracked yet or figured out)

 

The idea however is sound and simple enough where someone or a group of people could build custom content that would fit around the function and on top of that themes from KB Homes to Forbidden City and cultural styles.

 

As a result Project Anpassad would as a result do exactly what the word means allow for Custom creation's within any city and limited to the imagination of those whom start working on such ideas.

 

Just as the game has the a limit of creativity so does the limit of MODs,  We are just now entering the era of Modding.  I feel that putting out the ideas for new content from complex to simple is important as well as vetting the ideas with everyone whom would enjoy those types of constructs

    its a concept .. I have to come up with an idea, people whom wish to work on aspects from graphics to modeling and then get something released over time.. i'm just now talking to oppie even on the subject of various aspects.

     

    nothing any more will be mono developed when it comes to larger changes or mods most likely.

     

    People have various talents so its best to use what people are good at to create the ideas.

     

    Right now I would like feedback on the idea so we can get some further details on the conceptualization down to move forward with a prototype of some sort

    We need to discuss more about the lot sizes, land sizes, plop on road, plop on pedpath, plop on beach etc. surely that would be the easy part till the animation, sim's interactions, car's coming in and go, day and night cycle etc. I was indeed toying around with custom content. What hold me back is that I really need to figure out which property does what.

     

    We could create a tutorial in this very forums if we share our knowledge together.

    oppie and I are trying to figure out and get help with modeling and content... Scripts and programs links and methods used to convert models to content and then using them in scp and with assets are something that needs to be well documented for one up or single buildings let alone more complicated assets which have themed plops or assets like hotels and towers.\

     

    so much work to do still

    Hm, I never write much around here. And I am sorry, but I will never be able to code. ANd when I open blender I am just lost. But I visit this forum quite frequently to just see, what´s going on and I am weekly impressed by all the mods and ideas that are around. And since you invited everyone to bring up ideas, here are mine:

     

    I was always wondering, if you could use the amusment park for constructs like this. you have an entrance where a parking lot is provided and inside you can plop like med wealth/med density buildings to create a carless quarter in your town. Add are also playgrounds, parks and stuff; maybe a elementary school that fits the style... something like that. people would leave their houses in the morning, walk through there neighborhood to the parking lot and drive to work. If you could plop a maglev within your quarter, you could create nice modern town concepts.

    Another idea would be to change the amusement parc entrance into a town gate, which is the entrance to an ancient city center with pedestrian zone. cars would park in the parking garage close to the Gate.

     

    Both ideas are kind of mentioned at the beginning. I just wondered, if this would be possible with the amusment park? Or if this doesn't work because of the game's concept or because it just violates some modding rules...

    It is possible. Just need time and efforts to design and scripting. New content are coming soon gradually, some of the modders here might take upon your request. Stay tune.

    fact is for the few modders there are in the community we need more involvement... Oppie is stretched thing so am I and others whom are now getting involved

     

    Yayie, Danny, UguuDoki, Bowserking, firsta, Ssign, Hyugahinata, Tokouma, Hunter3k, captron, maxSk and myself there is so much room for so many more people

     

    Many of those above have either 100% working systems of modeling or have one side or the other needed to get aspects done.  Talking to oppie yesterday we need more people whom can model and work on content and shapes and others whom can do textures and together work on projects with scripts and changes.

     

    The idea is to post the ideas and get people working together on projects in the community to help not only each other learn but help the community enjoy the efforts.

     

    Information is information and nobody owns the information .. the ideas well the whole reason for posting them is to get more people involved.  The game exists the ideas on subjects only help improve the game and we do not own or have ownership on any aspect of those aspects.

     

    Working together helps everyone

    Thank you for your answer. Maybe I expressed that wrong. I know there is a mod request forum, but I was not asking you for a mod. I liked the idea of the project anpassed using the possibility of modular buildings to create complex city strucutres, like "strip malls, apartment complexes or inner city living". At the end you would have a very own compartment in your city, as far as I got. You will klick on it and add modules. It has entrances where you decide if it needs energy, water or whatever. When I get that right, the best thing would bethat you can limit it to pedestrians only. And what I was wondering was, if the concept of the amusment park (or university or wind park or oil wells) would maybe fit your project better than a mega tower flat on the ground. But as I said. I am not a modder. I did not dive as deep into this game as you did. I just assumed that for instance the amusement park is one modular building; modules around a starting point. But very likely I am wrong.

    Just wnated to learn if this would or wouldn't meet the concept of project anpassed.

    Sorry, I didn't want to disturb. I stay tuned. :)

    the idea is similar to how parks, services, amusement parks and other plops work yes

     

    from that stand point its taking the same code that exists and uses it more for a practical use of creating custom locations which are close tight or even interconnecting structures more like services and hospitals how they touch wall to wall or plop to plop

     

    that's the idea
