Terraforming guides?

I've tried terraforming on my own several times, but I've never been happy with the results. So until now I've either been playing on (almost) completely flat land, or on maps downloaded from the STEX. The former is dull, and something about the latter doesn't feel right for me.

So I was wondering if there were any guides to terraforming out there? Preferably something that could help with making an entire region at once. I believe SC4Terraforming is capable of the latter, but I've no real idea how to use it.

You can search the Omnibus for terraforming or on creating your own maps.  There are several articles that give you a step by step process of creating a map.  I have included a link to one as an example here.  You could also get the SC4Terraformer program from woanagaine to create your maps.  There is an article on how to use it here

Well, I use An old but reliable stand alone program from greyvieil.  No additional software is needed and it generates in-game renderables.  Lots of documentation in its help files.

This is a very powerful tool that can assist you in making your own negative B&W maps, generate one that can either be taken as is or worked on, and on completion of the map, can generate a proper config.bmp.  Also has a region naming database.

When running, maps are rendered in false colour to assist you.
