Hi all, about a year ago i found simcity4 for mac and have been playing it for about a year on my mac. Recently i upgraded the software not realizing that the current update(mavericks) would not support the game. My question is do i have to buy the new version of the game, and if i do can i still transfer my plugins?

    wish i never updated, this is all i use the mac for besides the internet.

Well the first option is to downgrade your Mac back (www.google.com).  Short of that, you'll have to get a new copy of the game.

 

Several problems have been discovered with Aspyr's new Mac version (keep up with the news ).  It leaves out some important game patches and doesn't behave well with some plugins.  If you want to run a PC version of the game through some third party emulator, you should be able to transfer all your plugins and use all the latest versions of everything without issue.  You'll get the most functionality out of that last option, but it will be the most difficult.

Thanks, i downgraded and it now works fine again. I cannot play SC2013 anymore, but that game leaves a lot to be desired.
