NAM Alternatives for Mac?

Given the various compatibility issues associated with running the current version of NAM with the Aspyr port of SC4 for Mac, I was wondering if there are any alternative mods which will work on the Mac platform. From what I've heard, NAM is an essential mod for SC4 but are there any others which may be inferior but will run on Mac?

There are no other mods that do what the NAM does, inferior or otherwise.  The NAM is often likened to a third-party expansion pack.  Plugins in general have issues with the port re-release, due to the file number limit in the Plugins folder, which gets especially severe (inexplicably) when the player is not connected to the internet, so the NAM is not alone on these fronts.

 

Even if the Mac userbase continues a pattern of steady growth, the quirks of the port are going to require some additional legwork to overcome before the experience is anything like it is on the Windows version, with respect to the ability to use popular mods like the NAM.  The fact that there are very few people who both run the port and have a substantial background in mod creation (which, due to the tools, has been almost exclusively the domain of Windows users for the past 11 years) means it's going to take that much more time.

Return for a refund if possible.  Lots of Mac users get various tools/emulators and run the PC version on OSX just fine.
