Magic Mouse Zooms crazy

I just got the app store version. The "scroll wheel" function on my mouse is super sensitive, and it zooms in and out like crazy when I don't mean to. Is there a way to turn that off? Do I need another mouse?

Thanks.

Also, hello forum. I'm Gregory.

I don't know of a way to turn it off.  I use a cheap third party two-button mouse with a scroll wheel and haven't had any problems.  Never cared for the scroll dot on Apple mice.

I believe there may be a way in the mouse preferences.  FWIW, it's hyperactive with the two-finger scroll on the MacBook Pro trackpad as well.

Correlation doesn't imply causation, but it does waggle its eyebrows suggestively and gesture furtively while mouthing 'look over there'. - xkcd.com

Same problem here with Magic Mouse. Frustrating.
II also have the Appstore version.

I stopped using the MM because of that issue.  A while back I used to use a free utility called Magic Prefs that allows customization of MM gestures, : http://magicprefs.com

Perhaps this will help.

Go to System Preferences, then Accessibility. In the left, select "Mouse & Trackpad," then click the "Mouse Options" button. Uncheck "Scrolling." If you have a trackpad, I assume the steps are basically the same.

This disables the scrolling entirely for all apps, but does prevent all those pesky random zooms. Best solution I've come up with. Hope it helps!

This has been driving me mad, had to be over cautious with the mouse while dragging out a road or else it would go all over the place
